The TAMA S.L.P. G-Maple snare drum is built on the foundation of a thicker 11 mm shell. This 14 x 6" drum is made with 12 inner plies of maple and an outer ply of gorgeous Mappa Burl. The maple gives it that bright, warm "crack" response from classic records, with enough sensitivity to pick up subtle playing. And because it's built thicker, the G-Maple keeps that tone in live situations, even when you really lean into the drum for heavier music. The 2.3 mm flanged hoops and separate low-mass lugs enable the shell to resonate naturally, enhancing its punchy sound. The beautiful Mappa Burl outer ply is finished in gloss for an impressive and attractive look.
