The Ultra Nearfield 3-Way Studio Monitor System is designed to be used in small spaces where getting too loud is a concern—either by virtue of room acoustics or neighbors. The entire system sits on your desk, and provides the same full-range, low-distortion listening experience as a pair of IN-8s at standard listening distance. Flexible setup options allow users to easily integrate this studio monitor system into their existing desk setup; the bass unit can be placed vertically to sit behind a laptop or display, or horizontally to be used as a monitor riser for a display.The Kali Audio Ultra Nearfield 3-Way Studio Monitor System consists of three main pieces: a bass unit and two satellites. The bass unit houses two high-excursion 4.5" woofers, as well as the amplifier and other electronics for the system. The two woofers are horizontally opposed, so no net vibration is transferred to the desk or to anything sitting on the bass unit. The two satellites use the same coaxial midrange and tweeter as Kali’s acclaimed IN-5 and IN-8 studio monitors. The bass unit also features a variety of inputs to meet all your audio needs. Via the USB-C connector, which supports 24-bit resolution and 48k sample rate, you can connect computers, phones, and tablets without the need for an outboard interface or DAC. Optical and 3.5 mm inputs provide support for both digital and analog connection to consumer devices like game consoles and receivers. For connection to standard pro audio devices, stereo TRS inputs are included.The Kali Audio WS-6.2 is a studio subwoofer with 2" x 6.5" high excursion woofers. Designed to be both powerful and small, the WS-6.2 takes up less than half as much space as comparably performing subwoofers. Despite its diminutive form factor, it is capable of 120 dB max SPL and 27 Hz lower frequency response. The woofers are horizontally opposed, meaning there is no net vibration from the subwoofer. A built-in 80 Hz high-passed output makes it ideal for pairing with most popular studio monitors, including the Kali Audio Ultra Nearfield 3-Way Studio Monitor System. A footswitch jack allows users to bypass both the sub and the crossover so they can hear their mix on their full range speakers. In addition to the 80 Hz crossover, the subwoofer can be set for LFE mode or be used with an external crossover. Polarity may also be reversed if necessary.
